1. Thanx for a fucking great concert at Gamla Teatern!
2. Are you still playing in Eskilstuna on Saturday May 3rd?
3. Hope to see you at Storsjöyran this year! They can't make
the same mistake twice and not book you to play Storttorget on Saturday
after the President's speach. Lets keep our fingers crossed...
Over and out.

Q
- Hello Mats,
I would like to know what ever came of the negotiating with Record
Heaven for the release of the Voltergeist album? Will this still come
about or is it now on hold because 220Volt are back together? I know
that there is quite a bit of 220Volt material unreleased have you
ever thought of releasing an official series of 220Volt live and demo
Cd's through an official 220Volt fan club, fan club Cd's if you will?
I would also like to take this time to say thank you to you for a
very kind act a long time ago. I wrote you way back in the mid 80's
to ask if I could get a copy of Heavy Christmas through the band.
Some months go by and I all but forgot about writing you and low and
behold I receive a package from Sweden with not only the Heavy Christmas
7" but a copy of High Heels as well, and both were signed by
all band members. Well I felt like I was the king of the world that
day and both singles are still very cherished items in my single collection.
They look very nice along with a quite large 220Volt collection. I
think the only 220Volt item I am missing is a copy of Young and Wild,
other wise I believe I have every Cd and vinyl release 220Volt has
released. I have a copy of Vol.I on the way as I type. :o)
Mats from my heart thank you so much for those singles you sent me
so long ago, they still mean the world to me.
With Kind Regards,
Wayne

- Hi Wayne!
Many thanks for your letter! Wow, cool that you found the website!
First of all, since the history section isn´t up yet, let´s
set the record straight. Voltergeist was the band that was formed
when 220 split up in 1992. 4 ex-members formed the new band Voltergeist.
(Peter Olander, Mike Larsson Krusenberg, Mats Karlsson, Peter Hermansson
and new singer Pelle Englund) The band played quite a few gigs and
recorded some demos.
The idea was to put an album out last year, very much in the ”Volume
1” vein. A half studio and half live album. Record Heaven
wanted to release the stuff and things were more or less settled.
Eventually, one of the members backed out and didn´t want
to release it. We all respected that and I don´t know today
what will happen, but personally I don´t think it will come
out.
We have material that was never released, quite a lot as you say..Some
of it is controlled by Sony and they don´t even want to release
the old albums on CD, so….that material won´t see the
light of day. We also have some stuff that is controlled by us.
We haven´t discussed releasing any of it, but hey, maybe it´s
not such a bad idea. I´ll talk to the guys.
I´m glad that the singles meant so much to you. It´s
always nice to hear that things work out the way you want them to.
I´m ashamed to have to admit that I don´t remember sending
you the singles, but I´m glad I did. Cool thing to send us
this letter and letting us know Wayne. Take care!

- I´m 38 now (as most members in the band) and know 220 v from
it´s start. I´ve always been a huge fan of Scandinavian
Metal. I remember that great demo back in 1982! A new name came from
Scandinavia: 220 Volt. A question I always had in my mind was why
the track "White Powder" on the first 5 track demo was never
recorded on any album?

- Hi Alain!
First of all, how the hell did that demo end up in Canada? What
a surprise, great! Please get back to us about that. The demo is
actually not the very first thing we recorded in a studio
but
the second demo. Anyway, the only songs so far that has been released
from that (the second) demo is "Prisoner Of War" and "Sauron".
Those songs were re-recorded for "Volume 1" aswell.
When
we re-united the old line-up last year we had a look at "White
Powder" again. We even recorded a short version of it to try
out some new lyrics that we came up with. I think that we thought
then (in 1982) and now that we had stronger songs that we chose
to work on first. Maybe it´s time to have another look at
it?

Q
- Hi!
I´ve been following 220 V since the start, my Prisoner Of War
single is copy number 266. I have all your albums except the one that
was released in Japan. (?) I´ve seen a lot of gigs with you
guys, but there´s one gig that I will never forget: Stockholm
1986 when you opened for the biggest rockband ever AC/DC. I also saw
you guys (some of them ed.) in Voltergeist in 1992 (probably 1993
ed.), still got a plectrum from Mats (cool).
Last
gig I saw was at The Old Theater in Nov 2002, a very good show that
I hope to be able to buy a copy of. (you did tape it, I know) I´ll
finish off with a few questions, will you continue? Will you play
at Storsjöyran? New album? Gigs?
Pelle
A
- Hi Pelle!
Thanks for your mail and support. It´s nice to know that people
that´s been with us all the way find the way to our website
and interact. Thanks for all your nice words. Now to your questions.
A lot of questions are coming in about Storsjöyran (big festival
in Östersund) and we haven´t been asked to play actually,
so we don´t know. New album? We´re gathering ideas,
and if we can come up with something really cool you know
The Japanese album? I guess you mean "Lethal Illusion".
That´s not a japanase album, it´s released in Europe
aswell. All albums except "Powergames" were released in
Japan.
We did record the show on Nov 30th but we haven´t mixed yet.
We know the tapes are of good technical quality, so we´ll
see. Lots of things have to fall into place. We´re also looking
at gigs for the spring and summer, we´d like to play a few
shows. We have some offers both in Sweden and outside of Scandinavia,
so we´re working on it.
