QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS

mail your questions

If there's anything you'd like to ask the band, you can do it through here. All mail will be forwarded to the members of 220 Volt and read, but we can't guarantee that all of them will be answered though. Still we will do our best to publish as many as possible. /Mr.Master

Q - Ciao 220 VOLT! My name is Luca, I'm a 36 years old writer and a great fan of yours since I bought the vynil of "Young And Wild" in 1987... I'd like to say you that I really love your music and I wait desperately the reissues on cd of your albums... Can I hope for this great event? A great huge from Italy! Ciao Luca

A - Many thanks for your e-mail and nice comments!
As far as we know, our old record company has no plans to re-issue any of the old albums. We´re very sorry, but that´s how it is right now. We´ve tried to make them release everything on cd for a few years now, even tried to get the rights to do it ourselves, but no luck.

They´re not intrested but unfortunately own the rights... Our only option is to re-record the most
popular songs...maybe we´ll have to do that..?

Take care!
//Mats
Q - Just wanted to inform you concerning 220 volt. I just got a cd from amazon.com. I got 220 volts cd Mind over muscle and I must say I was very disapointed its not the orginal album. They took some songs off that album the songs were fire fall dont go and mistreated eyes. What they did was adding bonus tracks in replace of those tracks I mentioned to you. I found those missing songs on Electric messengers. Will they remaster Eletric messengers on cd? I would love to see 220 volts Eletric messenger album remade on cd.
thanks Michelle

A - Hi Michelle, it's not so strange that you could'nt find Firefall, Don't go and Mistreated eyes on your cd. Those songs appeared on the Album Powergames. The album Electric messenger was/is a compilation album for the US market and contained songs from the first three albums. Sorry Michelle but there will be no re-release of the Electric messenger album.
You can read about all the albums on the Discography page.

Q - Hi!
Here's a couple of questions for you.
Will you release any DVD from the anniversary concert 2002?
Are there any plans for a new studioalbum?
The last time I saw you, last spring I think, was a really great performance. Do you have any tour dates planned?
Fredric Olsson Lit Jamtland - 220VOLT BEST IN JAMTLAND

A - Hi Fredric! No, unfortunately the quality's not good enough for a release.
Yes we have already started, hopefully it will be finished for release late this year or in the beginning of 2006.
Thanks, we've had some good times on stage the past year. Nothing is planned yet but we're working on it.
/Thomas

Availible CD:s

We're getting a lot of questions about what 220V albums that are availibe on cd. So once and for all here we go.
Officials:
220 Volt (japanese release)
Eye to eye ( Powerplay Records)
Lethal Illusion
Volume 1

Bootlegs:
All the others

As far as we know, Powerplay records are interested in releasing some of these albums but nothings is for shure yet.
We do know that Sony/CBS are NOT interested.

Q - After viewing your pages I found 3 songs mentioned that I
have never heard before and would love to find or see you guys release on a new album to come. "Children of the plains", "City lights" and "White powder" I only have a tape player and a cd player so records don't help and where can a copy of "220 volt" on cd be found?

Are you going to put another album together? If so, I hope
it's a topper for the last masterpiece lethal illusion. Though I did
enjoy the studio tracks off of volume 1, especially "You", "Don't come my way" and "On top of the world". Have you considered having Frille and Jocke team up on an album? I like both singers and think it would make for a killer album, maybe call it Rubicon or something real cool.

Kirby von Koehler / USA

A - Hi Kirby!
Thanks for your e-mails and sorry that it took some time to answer them. We´ll attempt to do so now.
First the songs you´re asking about:
"Children of the plains" was recorded at the "Mind over muscle" sessions. It was released as a b-side on the "High Heels" single. Both tracks were also on the "Young and wild" album which is hard to find since it´s been deleted and no hope for a new release as Sony won´t do it!

"City lights" was on the cassette version of the "Powergames" album. It was also released as a b-side on the first issue of the "Heavy X-mas" single. Recorded on the "Powergames" sessions.

"White powder" is a song from a demo recorded at the same time as "Prisoner of war" and "Sauron" in 1982. It´s not likely that we´ll release it.

Regarding the first album "220 Volt", I´ve seen it on Amazon for example. Shouldn´t be a problem to find it, it could cost you an extra buck or two though, since it´s a Japanese release.

There will be a new live album out this year. We´re writing to see what we can come up with in terms of a new album. Whether we´ll put Frille and Jocke together is too early to say. We haven´t discussed it.
Thanks for your many e-mails, questions and nice words about our music

/Mats

Q - First I'd like to say that you're a really great band.
Do you know any site where I can find 220V lyrics?

A - No, but if anyone out there has any, send them to us and we'll create a lyrics page
/Mr.Master

Q - Hello.... I saw the new pictures of the cover to "eye to eye", you cant be serious ?? The cover dont "face" the music on the cd one bit. That cover looks like a cheap powermetal group that just saw the daylight in the late 90's. Get a grip and make it good, like it looks like something new, or whatever but not that. You guys are not powermetal, or is this a trick to fool kids to listen to it when they are thinkin' it's powermetal, good thought :)) However , make a new album and stay away of release 2 songs on the same album next time (volume 1) !

Metal hello's to all the 220 volt fans around the world,
stay alive and playin' !

/ Nicko McErrin

A - Hello Nicko!
Thanks for your e-mail and opinions.

Some notes to explain the situation. The reason that this album even comes out at all, is the hard work of Jim at Power Play Records. Power Play have a license from Sony that makes it possible to release it. We´d rather have the album available than ”out of print” (or bootlegs doing the rounds).

I guess the cover, since it´s so different will cause some debate, and that´s o.k. Everyone´s entitled to an opinion. I got to see the whole artwork in advance and I think when you see the whole thing, it´s great! But then again, I´m not sure I´m sharing that view even with everyone in the band. The truth is that Power Play could have released the album without even asking for an opinion, but they did.

”Volume 1” was a 1000 copies anniversary issue for the die hard fans. The reason why there are two versions of one song, is that we wanted to give these people the opportunity to hear us live. The band had never released any live material before, so one song is in both studio and live version. When the new album is finished, I think I can say that it will be all new songs, but the new live album will be out first. Thanks for writing and keep on rockin´

/Mats
